I am sure you went to the right place. However, your spelling could send your mates to the wrong place. (Maybe)
The place you went to is the Nürburg ring, south of Bonn and west of Koblenz.
There is also a Nürnberg way to east, where they held the war trials (after WWII)
AFAIK, there is no Nürenburg.
Its all in the details.
Have you seen the Top Gear episode where the German woman driving instructor does the 'Ring in a diesel Ford van in 10m12s (passing Porsche's and sport bikes doing so)?

im going again on the 12 august it's only 3 hours down the road, did a 10.30 lap im still learning the course it's not just the corner's it's the bump's 2. locals reckon 300 laps is when you know it well.Comment

No probs. I lived in Germany for a year (86-87) (in Hamburg and Karlsruhe) so I had to say something. My German is rusty. Even when it wasn't, I always said I knew enough German to get into trouble - but not to get out of it.Originally posted by kingos2

i've been here 6 years my german is crap just like my spelling thats why im in the army can't belive they let me near helicopter's!
